Directions to the 3RR Depot

Because the depot is a new building, it may not be in your GPS system. As such, please follow the directions below to arrive at our new depot which is located at: 2560 University Commons Way, Knoxville, TN 37919

 

From I-40 East or West

  • Take exit 386B to US 129 (Alcoa Highway/Airport Exit) 
  • Drive 1/2 mile, getting in the far right lane, and take the Kingston Pike Exit 
  • From the middle lane, turn left and stay in the far right lane of Kingston Pike heading towards UT campus
  • Drive less than 1/2 mile and turn right onto University Commons Way 
  • Parking is available next to the depot, on the other side of the tracks from the depot, or under Wal-Mart

 

From Alcoa/Maryville

  • Traveling North on US 129/Alcoa Highway towards I-40, take the Kingston Pike exit, which is the second exit after passing over the Tennessee River 
  • Turn right at the end of the ramp onto Kingston Pike
  • Take the next right onto University Commons Way 
  • Parking is available next to the depot, on the other side of the tracks from the depot, or under Wal-Mart

 

From Kingston Pike

  • Traveling East on Kingston Pike towards UT campus, go past Neyland Drive and under US 129 (Alcoa Highway)
  • After going under Alcoa Highway, take a right onto University Commons Way
  • Parking is available next to the depot, on the other side of the tracks from the depot, or under Wal-Mart

 

From Cumberland Avenue

  • Traveling West on Cumberland Avenue, away from UT campus, go past 22nd Street and Volunteer Blvd.  
  • After passing the traffic light for Volunteer Blvd and going underneath the CSX railroad bridge, turn left at the traffic light onto University Commons Way.
  • Parking is available next to the depot, on the other side of the tracks from the depot, or under Wal-Mart.
     

Alternate Route 

If Cumberland Avenue is congested due to construction, you may take Neyland Drive to easily arrive at the new depot. Follow these directions to arrive at the depot from Neyland Drive: 

 

Going South on US 129 (Alcoa Hwy) from I-40

  • After merging onto US 129 (Alcoa Hwy) from either I-40 east or west, get in the right-middle lane.
  • Go past the Kingston Pike Exit and take the Neyland Drive exit 
  • Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Neyland Drive 
  • Go under Alcoa Hwy and straight at the traffic light 
  • Turn left onto Joe Johnson Drive at the next traffic light (Be aware that students might be crossing on this road)
  • Turn left at the next traffic light onto University Commons Way 
  • Parking is available next to the depot, on the other side of the tracks from the depot, or under Wal-Mart.

 

Going North on US 129 (Alcoa Hwy) towards I-40

  • Traveling North on US 129/Alcoa Highway towards I-40, take the Neyland Drive exit, which is the first exit after passing over the Tennessee River 
  • Turn left at the end of the ramp onto Neyland Drive 
  • Turn left onto Joe Johnson Drive at the next traffic light (Be aware that students might be crossing on this road)
  • Turn left at the next traffic light onto University Commons Way 
  • Parking is available next to the depot, on the other side of the tracks from the depot, or under Wal-Mart.
